Our cats aren’t exactly the most chatty cats. However, my mother’s cat Walker is a talkative Cathy.
While I cannot claim to be silent, my cats would instead communicate with other types of animals frequently.
Beau will usually inform us of what he’s in the mood for by looking at and pawing us, and on rare occasions, he’ll meow to signal that something’s not right or that he needs something.
In the same way, Kalista prefers to communicate with us by rubbing her body on us and hitting her head against us, or her favorite is chewing on and licking us.
After the adoption of Kalista, we noticed a change in Beau.
Each time Beau ate the food, he would let loose an exaggerated yowl after eating.
At first, I was not worried because I believed Beau was following some of the responsibilities of their cousin of his, Walker.
The thing is, Walker speaks so much that Walker even talks when eating. This makes quiet moments at home uncommon and, in reality, scary.
However, returning to Beau, his yowls, released after eating, weren’t the same as any of his usual meows.
They didn’t seem happy. They didn’t sound content, and they appeared to be experiencing a lot of pain, even though they would be running around the house in the next few minutes.
Why could Beau pick up this behavior, and what exactly does it mean?
Do all yowls mean that cats are in trouble, or could there be different meanings to the sound of a?

A cat’s meow is usually described as a drawn-out meow.
Most cats use the lower portion of their register to produce the sound, though yowls can also occur in the higher record.

Because cats have a minimal vocabulary, they rely on the same sounds for different things.
This is why no one answers why cats yowl when they eat. However, after some research, it’s relatively easy to figure out the root of the yowling.

Recently, Beau has been yelling as he prepares to sleep in the Meowfia-themed bed.
Beau will yowl several times, and then he will prepare to jump. And yowl again, climb onto the hutch stretch, and finally, go to the mattress to rest for a couple of hours.
We’re not entirely sure what caused Beau to develop this behavior because Beau didn’t show any signs of it until a month or more or less, but it’s because Beau is trying to catch my attention. I’ll give their attention to him right away.
In most cases, cats use the same tactics to help them get what they want.
An excellent example is my mother’s cat Walker, who was raised to believe that the more often he talks or speaks and cries, the better food he will get.
This is why we believe Walker tends to talk because of how he was raised to speak and ask for food. When you hear him is a bit loud and meows and yowls, you should be prepared for my mom to serve his food item.
Attention-seeking is only sometimes an undesirable thing in the case of cats. Still, I suggest keeping an eye on your cat’s behavior to ensure that their desire for attention doesn’t stem from stress or illness and instead comes from just love from you.
Cats can also yowl to get your attention as they seek more food. Sometimes, these cats appear and smell you and smudge you to signal that they’re not done.
Cats can also visit the location where they are fed or from where their food is sourced, and they will wander around and let their owners know what they need and would like.
If you observe that your cat keeps wanting more food, Feel free to feed them as much as you can as long as they do not have health concerns or haven’t been directed to do so by their vet.
If meowing continues after feeding, it is suggested that you go to the vet because your cat could have a deficiency that you didn’t know about.
Your vet will ask questions regarding your cat’s diet and energy levels before performing any tests needed to confirm that the pet is in good health and healthy.
THE CAT YOU HAVE IS IN PAIN
Sometimes, our pets feel uneasy or may experience pain after they’ve eaten. It could be due to several things.
There are times when pets eat way too quickly. Sometimes, cats are allergic. Sometimes, cats get sick.
Sometimes, our cats are hurting and cannot express their pain other than with a deep, dark yowl.
Below are some of the most commonly used reasons why cats express their pain after eating:
REGULAR GAS
Cats may experience stomach discomfort due to a variety of reasons among them, but one of the most frequent causes is gas.
It’s shocking to think of how severe discomfort from gas is, particularly for cats. However, I’m here today to inform you that you’re incredibly fortunate if you haven’t experienced any severe gas pain in the past.
Various reasons can cause gas pains, but one of the most common causes is food that is not high-quality.
We had some knowledge about this from our cat Kalista who was very stinky when we initially got her.
The fur of Kalista was not just disgusting, but she would also throw massive, huge fart bombs across the house and make a living with her a nightmare.
Fortunately, after a simple change to a healthier eating plan, Kalista stopped having gas problems ultimately!
Regarding food choices, try to pick one with a limited number of fillers, such as wheat, oats, corn, potatoes, etc.
These filters make cats gassy since cats can’t disintegrate the ingredients properly.
KIDNEY FAILURE
Cats older than ten are much more likely to develop kidney failure.
This isn’t to say that kittens cannot be able to develop kidney failure.
Cats that suffer from kidney failure are usually recognized as having a disease known as gastritis uremic.
This condition causes the stomachs of cats to become stiff and inflamed.
It’s common to notice your cat’s stomach becoming difficult and inflamed. If you’re concerned about your cat having this type of condition, I recommend that you give your cat a quick exam.
Getting your cat’s check-up regularly with an animal veterinarian is crucial, mainly when there’s a reason to be concerned.
Uremic Gastritis is thought to be highly uncomfortable for pets. This is the reason your cat will release a considerable wailing or shout.
The kidney’s role is to eliminate contaminants or waste. Much like humans, this happens by urine.
If the kidneys aren’t in good health and the cat can’t effectively remove contaminants or wastes from their bodies, it remains and can result in toxicity.
For example, it could the cat may suffer from acid reflux.
Most of us have experienced a kind of acid reflux at some point in our lives, and we know what it may feel like. However, not all of us have had a long-term experience with acid reflux.
Chronic acid reflux could cause the stomach to be sore, burn and even alter the sound of your voice.
If untreated, acid reflux can cause severe harm to your esophagus, which is usually irreparable.
Cats with gastric ulcers in the urethra may also start to feel irritable or even show a lack of enthusiasm for the food you offer them.
In many instances, you’ll see your cat throw up. However, it would help if you tried to bring your food out.
In extreme cases of uremic gastritis in cats, they are likely to vomit, experience diarrhea, and could develop excessively high fevers.
A vet may require blood tests in situations like this, so they can assess the severe problem and determine the necessary steps to resolve it.
Where are you, friend?
Our two cats, Kalista and Beau, have been an almost unbreakable couple. If the two ever become separated by a wall, they’ll yowl until the door opens.
There were a few months when Beau would cry loudly at night to attract Kalista’s attention so they could play together.
Beau would climb up on my dresser and yowl several times, and should Kalista not respond promptly, Beau would climb onto the top of the bookshelf and yowl.
At first, we thought it was because Beau was sick. After all, Beau used to cry when the symptoms of UTIs. However, we realized that Kalista always appeared and would be seen running around the apartment after we learned the reason behind it.
If you have several cats, and they eat at different times, they may be able to yowl during meals to call each other to determine whether the other has finished eating.
The cats can play with one another, or the cat who has finished first will be able to see whether there’s food left to consume.
It is essential to deter this behavior, mainly because it distracts cats who are slower in eating, as they are curious about what’s happening.
It is easy to stop this behavior by providing your cat with an esoteric food source or an interactive toy to help them solve the puzzle while they consume.

My cat isn’t sick, But I’d like them to stop yawning. What can I do?
If your cat’s yowling is not connected with being sick, you can teach your cat to stop yowling when they eat.
The best method is a kind called replacement conditioning.
Offer your cat something fun to play with immediately after eating to ensure they don’t have the opportunity to start screaming or meowing directly after eating.
This can help your cat connect the new activity or situation to the process of eating.
Cats like routines. This is one of the main reasons the way of yowling entices them.

While cats often seek to conceal their illnesses, a thorough examination of the routine changes will identify if your cat is suffering from a disease.
If you aren’t sure whether your cat is suffering from symptoms or discomfort, it is highly advised to go to the veterinarian immediately.
Although kidney problems may not always require treatment, they can often require a diet adjustment to ensure that the problem doesn’t get worse.
If kidneys have begun to fail does not mean this is the final chapter of your pet’s lifespan and that they will not take advantage of their life to the fullest.
